STARS - Kindergarten Readiness Program

The STARS (social techniques and academic readiness skills) program is designed for children who need a little more time before starting Kindergarten. It focuses on readiness skills for reading, math, and basic science and social studies concepts.  The children are also exposed to social skills, computer, chapel, music, and the Morris Museum program. Various special events occur throughout the year. The students go on two field trips each year, to visit a local farm and The Children's Museum.

Each class has a teacher and a teacher assistant.  The classrooms have specific learning centers as well as skill building resources.

The children also enjoy playing in our full size indoor gymnasium or, when weather permits, the 7,000 sq. ft. outdoor recreation area.

Our extended brunch and lunch programs are supplemental and involve the children bringing in their own packed lunch, enjoying activities and reading a story.  

STARS students participate in the outreach ministry "The Young At Heart", a fun and heart warming afternoon for Senior's through song and crafts.
